hū wèi shēng sǐ ér bēi tí
忽 为 生 死 而 悲 啼 ，

忽 為 生 死 而 悲 啼 ，

One day he lamented over the issues of life and death,

yào xún xiān fāng qiú cháng shēng
要 寻 仙 方 求 长 生 。

要 尋 仙 方 求 長 生 。

and hence he was determined to look for the immortal potion
for longevity.

shí yī fu tōu xié mào

拾 衣 服 ， 偷 鞋 帽 ，

拾 衣 服 ， 偷 鞋 帽 ，
He fetched clothes, stole hats and shoes,

hē jiǔ chī miàn dòu xiào shēng

喝 酒 吃 面 逗 笑 声 。

喝 酒 吃 麵 逗 笑 聲 。

drank wine and ate noodles, frolicking all the way.
